Crafting Timeless Elegance

Bethany Silverworks is a small, independent silversmithing studio creating handcrafted jewelry rooted in the beauty, history, and tradition of the Orthodox Christian faith.

I’m Allison, the silversmith behind the work.

My path to both Orthodoxy and silversmithing was not a straight one. I grew up in Protestant churches and spent years moving through non-denominational, evangelical, and Pentecostal traditions, eventually exploring the Hebrew Roots movement as well. Through it all, I found myself searching for something deeper: a faith connected not only to Scripture, but to the historic Church and the Christianity handed down from the Apostles.

Ironically, Orthodoxy was the last place I expected to find it.

Like many Protestants, I carried misconceptions about the Orthodox Church and resisted it for years. But the more I learned about the history of Christianity, the early Church, the sacraments, the saints, and the ancient rhythms of Christian worship, the more those assumptions began to fall away.

In 2026, my family and I were baptized into the Orthodox Church together. After years of searching, we had found our home.

The Work

Bethany Silverworks grew naturally from that journey. The name of my business takes its name from St. Mary of Bethany, my patron saint. Her name gives this work a personal connection to my Orthodox faith and serves as a reminder of the devotion I hope is reflected in everything I create.

With the blessing of my priest, I began creating Orthodox jewelry as a way of bringing together my craft and my faith. Each piece is made by hand in my Oklahoma studio using traditional silversmithing techniques. The marks of the process - the hammering, shaping, soldering, casting, and finishing - are intentionally part of the work.

I am drawn to pieces that feel timeless rather than trendy: jewelry meant to be worn often, handled, passed down, and woven into the ordinary rhythms of a Christian life.

Crosses, saints’ names, ancient Christian symbols, and other devotional designs are more than ornament. They can be tangible reminders of whom we belong to and where our attention should return.

My hope is that every piece I make reflects that purpose.

More Than Jewelry

Bethany Silverworks is ultimately an extension of the life I am trying to live: one centered on faith, family, meaningful work, and finding holiness in ordinary things.

Away from my bench, I’m a wife and mother, an artist, and the keeper of a rather unreasonable number of chickens. Life here is rarely pristine, and I wouldn’t want the work I create to pretend otherwise.

Everything at Bethany Silverworks is made slowly, thoughtfully, and by human hands.

Thank you for being here and for allowing my work to become a small part of your own story.
